Lesbie Avenue FCPlayer profile
Andy Marshall
Known as Andros
A longtime friend of the founders and Tom Hughes’s university housemate, Andy joined Lesbie Avenue in 2019. Now based in Southampton, he still returns for every annual derby and the occasional league appearance. Wearing number nine, “Andros” specialises in convincing opponents that nothing dangerous is happening. Once they relax, he produces an unexpected piece of skill, an unstoppable finish or—his preferred options—a chip or nutmeg. His finest example came in the first Hughes derby, when he chipped the goalkeeper from outside the box to win Goal of the Year. A trained children’s football coach, Andy reads the game well and offers plenty of tactical wisdom. He also delivers when called upon: imported from Southampton for one appearance this season, he promptly scored. Away from football, his colourful shirts make him as easy to locate as the late Queen. His vast collection of obscure football kits is meticulously recorded in a spreadsheet by club, country, league, colour and more. Part striker, part coach and part specialist import, Andy rarely appears without adding spice.
