Introduced by Tom Leake in 2022, Ieuan joined Lesbie Avenue after the pair worked security at ASDA—moving naturally from defending the supermarket to defending on the pitch. Known universally as “Woody,” the number 18 is dominant in the air and extremely difficult to beat on the ground. Once he inevitably wins possession, he can produce sensational passes that even Nostradamus would have struggled to predict. His biggest opponent is injury, particularly during the annual Hughes derbies. Woody’s commitment to denying attacks has occasionally frustrated opponents. The one time his then-girlfriend, now wife, came to watch, an opposition player punched him in the face after repeatedly failing to get past him. He also scored from inside his own half during the Penarth campaign. When heads drop, Woody rallies the team and immediately moves on from any goal conceded. Alongside Dylan and Leake, he completes a back three so reliable that Steve could almost remove his gloves and watch from the stands. Now a husband and father, Woody is always ready for the next plan and regularly showcases his other great talent: cooking.
