Lesbie Avenue FCPlayer profile
Tom Leake
Known as Reg
Another of the school friends who founded Lesbie Avenue in 2016, Tom Leake has long been one of its most dependable defenders. Tall, physical and extremely difficult to pass, he has occasionally earned the alternative nickname “the Berlin Wall.” Leake reads the game well, communicates danger and uses his strength to win or protect the ball while others move into position. He dominates aerial challenges and, when an opening appears, can suddenly explode into attack. That versatility produced a hat-trick against Misfits despite him spending most of the game in defence. As Dylan puts it: when Reg is alongside you in the trenches, you have a reliable fighter. “Reg” comes from Leake’s former life as a Professional wrestler and the character he played in the ring. That theatrical instinct resurfaced during an argument with a referee who claimed he could magically turn Leake’s blue card into a red. Leake asked why he could not make his own stomach disappear; the card duly changed colour, the manager was banned and Lesbie Avenue’s first spell at Gôl came to an end. Now a dad, he hosts club conferences at home and contributes an escalating collection of terrible jokes.
